SCOTCH PURE MALT

A mix of single malts only, without other types of whiskies such as made from grains other than malted barley, may be called a "Blended Malt" (formerly known as a Vatted Malt or Pure Malt). Blended Malt Scotch whisky means a blend of two or more Single Malt Scotch whiskies from different distilleries. For the Scotch whisky industry, the terms Vatted Malt or Pure Malt have been reclassified as Blended Malts under the Scotch Whisky Regulations of 2009.
